The trip from Daytona Marine and Boatworks to Adventure Yacht Harbor was really nice. I was a touch worried about the storm hitting before I got it, but it dissipated nicely .
I tested reverse gear several times, having no failures - I believe that Dennis is correct about the idle speed. If the idle is set too high, it cannot go into gear, resists and pops into neutral.
I passed under a highway bridge, and then on my right was an island as full of pelicans as I could ever have wished! I could not get close enough, due to skinny water, to take pictures but trust me that the white in the two pictures I did take is pelican feathers! Hundreds, possibly thousands of them! it is called 'Seabird Island'. Jim, who is the harbormaster here told me.
I wish I could leave Doublewide here and go home, because I like this place a lot, but I am going down to Titusville and I hope to find that the Kennedy Yacht Club is decent enough for Doublewide for a couple of weeks. I am going to fly home and recover from a severe case of homesickness.
Tonight I may treat myself and go up to 'Boondocks', a local seafood restaurant about 100' down the dock from Doublewide. Just too convenient to ignore. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I am going over to the ocean which is less than 4 blocks away. |
